Bohio Resort

Welcome to Bohio Dive Resort at Pillory Beach, on the island paradise of Grand Turk. At Bohio (pronounced Bo-hee-oh) we invite you to kick off your shoes, stroll across the velvet sand and immerse yourself in our tropical turquoise waters. Explore the colourful reefs and historic Cays, join in the watersports, or simply lounge with a cocktail as the crimson sunset lights up the evening sky.

Dive or snorkel off our pristine white beach, just steps from your room. Explore the world's third largest coral reef, and experience some of the best wall diving to be found anywhere on the planet. Swim with the beautiful tropical fish, as well as the whales, dolphins, rays and turtles that play just off our shore. Then top off the day as the mood takes you, at a serene sunset yoga session or an evening in our lively bar.

Taino indians, the first known inhabitants of these entrancing islands called their homes "bohio". Come, relax, unwind. Let our bohio be your own.

Boats and Equipment

Grand Turk is home to the world's third largest barrier reef, and consistently ranked among the top diving destinations, notably for its spectacular wall diving. The island is surrounded by marine reserves, historical wrecks and fascinating tropical wildlife.

Dive or snorkel right off our beach, or take one of the daily guided boat trips. For the James Bond enthusiasts there are UPVs (Underwater Propulsion Vehicles) available for hire. Divers can even take the new PADI UPV specialty course! Our highly trained PADI certified instructors cater for all levels of experience. For those new to the underwater world, introductory scuba and snorkelling courses are available. For more experienced divers, there is plenty of opportunity to explore and advance your skills and certification. All equipment is available for hire. Please request courses ahead of your arrival date.

The sheer reef wall, located 400 yards off Pillory Beach, descends to a staggering 7000 feet (more than 2000 metres) and is home to a lush variety of flora and fauna. You'll see black coral, manta rays, turtles, eagle rays and dolphins and hear the call of the mighty humpback whale. Or head for the Cays to feed the friendly stingrays and swim with the sleepy nurse sharks.

Resort Facilities

Our sixteen rooms all have beachfront views and terraces. Four deluxe rooms have king beds and kitchenettes. All have ensuite shower rooms, ceiling fans, fridges, cable TV and air conditioning.

The Guanahani restaurant and bar is open daily to offer a gourmet experience, with a mix of wonderful local and international cuisine, an extensive wine list and house speciality cocktails plus a selection of fine Cuban cigars and Italian coffees.

The resort has its own dive centre with experienced PADI qualified instructors catering for beginners and more experienced divers.

Bar / Resturant

The Guanahani restaurant and bar is open daily to offer a magnificent range of gourmet dishes created by our chef Zev Beck. His dishes, undeniably the best on the island, are a creative blend of local and international flavours.

"Just about everything we tried we ate with great gusto. The food has smooth but intricate flavours and presentations are casually artful." - Mia Stainsby, Vancouver Sun

"The Peppercorn-crusted Tuna is loaded with fusion flavours. It is seared so that the centre of each rosy slice is sashimi rare, meltingly moist and tender. I'd go so far as to say that it's the best tuna I've ever had." - Robin Mines, Vancouver Courier

"Beck's menu works. These are vibrant classic dishes artfully highlighted with different ethnic flavours and expressively executed with wit and skill." - Gary Faessler, Vancouver Lifestyles

Gastro enthusiasts can participate in a unique Bohio experience - take to the high seas in our luxury boat and experience a fantastic afternoon's fishing. Then have a one to one lesson in the kitchen with Chef Zev and your fresh local catch, he will show you how to prepare his world-famous signature dish 'Ahi Tuna Encrusted with Sesame and Peppercorns'. This is a 'must do' for anyone who loves food and cooking.
